metal care
precious metals are made to be worn. with time, their surfaces will naturally change, carrying subtle marks and traces of wear. regular, gentle care will help preserve the character and finish of your piece.
gold | yellow, white + rose
clean your gold piece with warm water, mild soap and a soft toothbrush. rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft, lint-free cloth.
avoid direct contact with perfume, creams, cosmetics and household chemicals. remove your jewellery before swimming, exercising or activities that may expose it to impact.
our 18ct white gold is naturally unplated and carries a soft grey tone. rhodium plating, when specifically requested, may gradually wear and require renewal over time.
when not worn, store your piece separately in a soft pouch or jewellery box to protect the surface from contact with other jewellery.
platinum
clean platinum with warm water, mild soap and a soft toothbrush. rinse thoroughly and dry carefully with a soft cloth.
platinum is exceptionally resilient, but its surface will naturally develop marks and a soft patina with wear. this is characteristic of the metal and does not compromise its integrity.
remove your piece during sport, heavy manual activity or situations where it may receive significant impact.
when not worn, store it separately to protect the surface and any gemstones from contact with other jewellery.
argentium silver
clean argentium silver with warm water and mild soap, then rinse thoroughly and dry completely with a soft cloth.
a gentle polishing cloth can be used when needed to restore its luminosity. avoid abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals and prolonged exposure to moisture.
although argentium silver has greater tarnish resistance than traditional sterling silver, its surface will still evolve naturally with wear.
when not worn, keep your piece clean and dry, stored separately in a soft pouch or jewellery box.
gemstones
gemstones require individual care. differences in hardness, structure and treatments mean that a cleaning method suitable for one stone may not be appropriate for another.
avoid exposing your piece to sudden temperature changes, harsh chemicals or unnecessary impact. we do not recommend ultrasonic or steam cleaning unless you are certain it is appropriate for the specific gemstone.
if you are unsure how to care for your piece, contact the studio before cleaning it.
professional care
over time, your jewellery may benefit from professional cleaning, refinishing or an inspection of its setting.
for pieces worn frequently, particularly rings and jewellery set with significant gemstones, we recommend periodically checking the setting to ensure the stone remains secure.
fenda studio pieces can be returned to us for assessment and care.
