material is never an afterthought.
we choose precious metals for the way they hold form, respond to light and change through wear. each has its own weight, colour and character, and each becomes part of the architecture of the piece.
we believe in allowing materials to remain close to their natural state. surfaces may soften, marks may appear and patinas may develop. these changes are not imperfections, but traces of a piece being worn and lived with.
gold | yellow, white + rose
we craft our pieces primarily in 18ct gold, chosen for its balance of purity, strength and enduring colour.
yellow gold is at the heart of the studio — warm, luminous and particularly expressive against the stones and surfaces we work with.
white and rose gold offer different expressions of the same material and are available by request, alongside other gold alloys where appropriate to the piece.
our 18ct white gold is left naturally unplated. rather than applying rhodium as a standard finish, we preserve the natural character of the alloy and avoid an additional plating process where it isn't necessary.
without rhodium, white gold carries its own distinctive colour — a softer, warmer grey rather than the bright white commonly associated with plated jewellery.
rhodium plating is available by request. if you are looking for a naturally bright white metal, we recommend platinum.
platinum
platinum is a naturally white precious metal, valued for its density, strength and enduring character. unlike white gold, its colour is inherent to the metal and requires no plating to achieve its soft, luminous white tone.
its strength and resistance to material loss make platinum particularly suited to substantial gemstones and pieces where the setting plays an important structural role.
there is a physical presence to platinum that we value. its density gives a piece weight, while its quiet colour allows the form and gemstone to remain at the centre of the composition.
with time and wear, platinum develops a soft patina — a subtle change in surface and texture that becomes part of the life of the piece. rather than losing its character, the metal evolves with wear.
argentium silver
silver has always held an important place in our practice. it allows us to explore scale, surface and form with a freedom that is different from gold or platinum.
we work with argentium silver, a modern silver alloy chosen for its luminosity and greater resistance to tarnish than traditional sterling silver.
its naturally bright surface can soften with wear, developing subtle marks and changes in tone over time. we see this evolution as part of the material rather than something to disguise.
for us, silver is not a lesser precious metal. it is a material with its own language — cool, expressive and particularly suited to pieces where surface, volume and form take precedence.

the scale of the gemstone, the architecture of the setting, the way the piece will be worn and the character you want it to carry all inform the choice.
sometimes that means the warmth of 18ct yellow gold. sometimes the structural weight and natural whiteness of platinum. sometimes the clarity and freedom of silver.
